Not that cute: Boss tells jobseeker in accidental rejection email, goes viral

Chuck Degrendel, the owner of Ava Lane Boutique in Auburn Hills, Michigan is begging for forgiveness after getting a job application from a young woman looking to work in sales with the company he owns with his wife then totally sinking his own business with his accidental response.

He thought he was emailing his wife the ‘no-go’ message about the young college graduate, but instead, he emailed the young woman.

“This girl is fresh out of college (Hope college) and not that cute,” creepy Chuck wrote. “She applied to the sales model position. Are you sure you want to interview her?”

Gracie Lorincz told her embarrassing tale to TikTok and it took off. Not surprisingly the internet 1-starred Ava Lane Boutique causing Chucky to go on video to apologize.

It quickly became apparent why Chuck’s wife runs the show and not him. In a near breakdown video, not for the girl, but for his business, he said he did something “embarrassing”.

“I sent a reply back to Laura that said she was a recent college grad…and I didn’t feel she was not cute,” he said. “It’s not in line with our core values.”

Chuck said as he was driving his kids home from soccer, he found out he sent the email to the wrong person.
