HOUSTON, TX – Two women were shot and killed and in a deadly domestic violence incident where a male suspect shot his girlfriend and his mother. Both were pronounced dead.
At 9:13 a.m., the Houston Police Department responded to East Tri-Oak Lane. Upon arrival, police witnessed a woman knocking on the door. The suspect opened the door and shot the woman at point-blank range. The officers told the suspect to drop the gun, but he then turned on the officer, shooting and striking his cruiser. The suspect was shot several times and went back into the home and barricaded himself inside.
Police learned immediately that the woman shot outside was dead. The suspect later turned himself in and was taken to the hospital. Inside, police found another victim, the suspect’s girlfriend.
Police later identified the woman at the front door as the victim’s mother.
“Our responding HPD officer’s patrol vehicle with bullet strikes from a male suspect who opened fire on the officer outside an apartment in the 1000 block of East Tri Oaks Lane, near Wilcrest and 1-10 West. Thankfully, our officer was not hit and returned fire, striking the suspect,” the police department said. “The suspect had fatally shot two women in a domestic violence incident. He is now being treated at a hospital.”
The suspect is in his mid twenties. The girlfriend was approximately 30-years-old.
