TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy this weekend responded to the mass shooting in Indianapolis that killed eight people. Four of those victims were Sikh Americans.
Murphy says New Jersey stands in solidarity against gun violence and described America as a country experiencing a pandemic of hate and racism.
“As our nation reels from yet another mass shooting, we cannot lose sight of the fact that four of the eight victims in Indianapolis were Sikh Americans,” Murphy said. “Our nation has an epidemic of hate, racism, and gun violence – we MUST end it. New Jersey is proud to be home to one of the largest concentrations of Sikh Americans in the United States.”
