Newark, DE – Delaware State Police are conducting a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed a Dover man’s life.
On March 23, 2021, at approximately 5:27 p.m., a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 was traveling on Otts Chapel Road in the left lane approaching North Hunter Forge Road. The 21-year-old male operator lost control of the motorcycle and began to travel to the right side of the roadway. The Suzuki then went down on its left side and slid into the concrete curb located on the northeast corner of the Otts Chapel Road and North Hunger Forge Road intersection. The operator came to rest in the left lane of Otts Chapel Road. After the motorcycle struck the curb, it hit a guardrail and was launched into the air before coming to rest approximately 100 feet north of the impact.
The operator was pronounced deceased at the scene. Identification is pending notification to next of kin.
This crash is being investigated by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
