TAMPA, FL – When Dexter the dog, from Tampa was out in his backyard chasing birds, he accidentally fell into a muddy canal. Dexter was stuck in the mud up to his belly and couldn’t get out. Unfortunately for Dexter, his mom is recovering from a broken leg and was unable to rescue him. Not knowing where else she could turn, she called for the assistance of the Hillsboro County Sherrif’s Office. Deputies gladly obliged to rescue Dexter. Deputy Cullinan got into his waders and jumped knee-deep into the mud to rescue Dexter.
