PORTLAND, OR – One person was shot dead in Portland’s North Precinct Thursday night. Police are investigating.
On December 17, 2020 at about 6:54 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting near North Vancouver Avenue and North Stanton Street. After arrival it was determined that a person at the scene was deceased.
Cause and manner of death will be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner at a later time and date. Additional information will be released at the direction of the investigators.
Officers have secured the crime scene and Homicide Detectives will be responding to assist in the investigation. North Vancouver Avenue and North Williams Avenue is closed from North Russell Street to North Ivy Street. A media staging point is located at North Russell Street and North Williams Avenue. Emanuel Hospital may be accessed off of North Stanton Street.
