TOMS RIVER-The Ocean County Health Department’s latest figures show Toms River is starting to make gains in the total COVID-19 outbreak data released today by the Ocean County Health Department. While Lakewood reigns supreme with 599 total cases, Toms River is slowly creeping in from behind Lakewood with 280 cases. Brick Township has 174 and Jackson Township has 154 cases.
This week, Toms River Mayor Maurice B. Hill stated that he had access to a detailed coronavirus map that broke down township data by sections or neighborhoods, but that claim was false according to the Ocean County Health Department, who stated no such detailed maps exist.
