TOMS RIVER-The Ocean County Health Department today reported 51 new positive coronavirus cases with nearly half of all cases located in Lakewood. The new total count is 200, with 84 cases in Lakewood, 28 cases in neighboring Jackson Township and 23 in Toms River.
Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy last week blamed the increase in those areas on people not following instructions to self-quarantine and not congregate in large groups.
67.5% of all cases in Ocean County were identified in Lakewood, Jackson and Toms River, three of the four largest towns in Ocean County.
