Jackson Memorial Moving on to Central Jersey Group IV Football Championship

JACKSON-The Jackson Memorial Jaguars (8-2) defeated Toms River High School East (9-2) to clinch their spot in the CJ Group IV final.

In the second quarter, Toms River was starting to look like it was their game after Nick Totten connected with Riley Englehard on a 21 yard touchdown pass, followed by a 57 yard run by Mikey Goodall.

At the half, it was 14-7 Jags


after QB Lonnie Cebukski ran the ball in for a touchdown on a successful goal-line run.

Jackson Memorial started the 3rd quarter scoring off with a 12 yard touchdown from Cebukski to Will Towns, but missed the extra-point kick.

East widened the gap when Goodall ran the ball 19 yards into the endzone again, giving East a 21-13 lead going into the 4th quarter.

Will Towns closed the gap with a 5 yard touchdown run and Memorial followed up with a successful two-point conversion to tie the game.

Jackson sealed the deal against East after Damien Henderson recovered a fumble on a punt on East’s 18-yard line.

Jackson Memorial went ahead on an 18 yard touchdown run by Cebukski, giving the Jaguars a hard-fought 27-21 comeback win.
