Adventure Basketball an Olympic Slam Dunk for Jackson Township, Adventure Crossing USA

JACKSON TOWNSHIP-Big things are happening at Adventure Sports and Entertainment, the sports facilities being built within the overall Adventure Crossings USA project adjacent to Six Flags Great Adventure. Previously, Adventure Sports had announced it’s an affiliation with Ruthless Softball, operated by three-time Team USA Olympian softball player Crystl Bustos, which will call the facility home.

Today, Adventure Basketball LLC, owned by Mike Klatsky, Fred Klatsky, and Sue Bird announced a basketball program of Olympic proportion will also be calling the facility their home. Sue Bird, is a 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist, 3-time WNBA champion, 11-time WNBA All-Star, college player of the year at UConn and widely regarded as one of the best women’s basketball players of all time. The leased premises in Jackson will be located in a 167,000 square foot sports facility, the Recreation Center that will also contain a 50,000 square foot turf area, sports bar, food court, rock climbing, arcade, laser tag and much more.  In addition to basketball, the Klatskys will have volleyball, badminton, pickleball, futsal, and other sports and activities.

Bird and the Klatskys have several decades of owning and managing indoor sports facilities, including Monroe Tennis, Basketball & Sports Center, Jersey 34 Tennis Club in Old Bridge, and Central Jersey Basketball in Marlboro, New Jersey.


Allan Proske, a partner and the operator of Adventure Sports and Entertainment said the complex will also offer outdoor turf fields for soccer, softball, baseball, lacrosse and a venue to host festivals and various events.  Inside, in addition to the basketball courts, a sports and agility program will operate out of the facility with an area geared for physical therapy and athlete injury recovery.


“With each sport, Adventure Sports and its many relationships with current and former Olympians will offer state of art training, regional and national events along with local programs for the community,” Proske said. “This complex will be the centerpiece for Adventure Crossings which will also have a golf center, ice rinks, a banquet hall, and 3 on-site hotels.”

Owned by local Jackson business owners Vito Cardinale and Randy Johnson, Adventure Crossings will also have several restaurant pads, a world-leading MS research facility, hotels and an exposition center.

“Adventure Crossing USA will be the premier sports and entertainment destination of the northeast,” Cardinale said. “With Six Flags Great Adventure as our neighbor, it will make an ideal travel sports destination for all of the programs operating within the facility and to attract sports tourism for families from around the entire country.”

“We are extremely excited to be a part of the most comprehensive and elite sports and entertainment complex in the Northeast United States,” Mike Klatsky said. “The players and their families that participate in tournaments, clinics, camps, practices, etc. shall have all of the following on-site for their sports and entertainment pleasure.”

Klatsky said that on top of the Olympic level training between Adventure Basketball and Ruthless softball, the availability of hotels restaurants and multiple other sports and entertainment activities, packaged with the accessibility to Great Adventure will make Adventure Crossing USA the ultimate family sports destination.

“Once a family arrives at Adventure Sports and Entertainment, they can park their car for the weekend and never have to drive anywhere, because on-site, they can stay at a hotel, walk to the basketball games, eat at a sports bar, food court or restaurants, siblings and players can participate in rock climbing, arcade games, laser tag, enjoy Great Adventure, and so much more,” Klatsky added.
