Man Arrested for Harassing Beachgoers in Long Beach Island

On Wednesday, July 18 at approximately 4:31 p.m. the Long Beach Township Police Department was called to the 128th Street Beach in Beach Haven Terrace for a male harassing beach patrons and not leaving the beach as instructed by the Beach Patrol Lifeguards.

Officer S. Ferguson was the first officer to make contact with the subject who was later identified as Mr. Shane A. Henches of Park Avenue, Stafford Township, NJ. Mr. Henches was subsequently arrested for creating a disturbance and resisting and hindering his own apprehension.

In addition it was confirmed that Mr. Henches had warrants for his arrest for nonpayment of court ordered child support. He was processed and turned over to the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department with a Long Beach Township court date of August 13th.
