After trailing by 13 points at halftime Saturday the Toms River North High School girls basketball team mounted a strong comeback attempt that fell one point short as the visiting Mariners fell to Howell, 38-37.
Jenna Paul scored 14 points and Brielle Bisogno had 12 for Toms River North.
Becca Hamilton led the Rebels with 12 points. Gianna Ciaccarelli and Brittany Lucey added six points each for Howell.
