Travel Softball News: Manalapan Intensity Raises Over $2,000 for Cancer Research

TRENTON-The Manalapan based ASE Intensity 12u girls came out winners, raising $2,000 for cancer research this weekend, even though they didn’t reach the championship game.

The PINK Tournament is a competitive fast pitch softball tournament, hosted and facilitated by the Pink Ribbon Softball, Inc. along with Susan G. Komen  – Central & South Jersey and local community volunteers. The purpose of the event is to encourage and engage the area youth fastpitch participants to fundraise for breast cancer research and to help spread breast cancer awareness.

Despite being much younger than their competition,  – Intensity  managed to go 2-1 in the Annual Pink Tournament held at Mercer County park this past weekend.

In The final game of the weekend, Ally Proske went the distance, pitching 7 innings to notch her second win of the day. Intensity initially surged ahead early to hold a  6-2 with key hits from Ellie Mager and Madison Groschel-Klein. With some clutch hits and a couple of painful errors by Intensity, the Huskies rallied in the 6th to tie the game and send it into extra innings. However, Intensity fought back In the 7th inning  and  Ava Guccio stole home on a wild pitch to give Intensity the exciting win.
