HS Softball: Southern Comes from Behind to Beat Henry Hudson

MANAHAWKIN-Southern Regional opened the 2017 season with an 8-9 come from behind win against visiting Henry Hudson.  Keeley Himmelreich went 4-5, driving in 2 runs.   Christina D’Amodio and Christine Rinaldi each went 2-3 at the plate.

Henry Hudson’s Alyssa Curry went 2-5 and drove in 3 runs.

The game was back and forth with Henry Hudson taking a 2-1 lead in the second, but by the bottom of the 5th, the Rams took a 4-2 lead.  In the top of the sixth, Henry Hudson put 5 runs on the board and a 7-4 lead.  Heading into the 7th inning Henry Hudson had a 7-6 lead, putting an insurance run on the board, but the Rams tied it in the bottom of the inning, forcing extra innings.


In the bottom of the 9th inning, the Rams scored one, taking the opening day win.
