Man Found Sleeping with Heroin, Gun on Sidewalk Arrested in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY-On October 10, 2017, a wanted male was arrested after sleeping on the sidewalk in possession of a handgun and heroin.

At 10:44 pm, Officers Sean McGettigan, Domenick Montanaro, and Michael Osorio of the Tourism District Unit located Darrell Legette sleeping on the sidewalk at the corner of Florida and Pacific Avenues. After waking Leggette, he was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and officers found a loaded handgun in the waistband of his pants and four bags of heroin in his pocket.

ARRESTED: Darrell Legette, a 24 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Legette was also given a city ordinance for sleeping in public.


Legette was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
