The two-month long investigation led by Det. Hurley focused on street-level sales of crack cocaine.
Upon responding to the residence, several occupants were located, including two male subjects who attempted to leave the area in a vehicle but were subsequently stopped. Both Ralph Cavalieri, Age: 64 and Dameon Loftland, Age:29, both of West 6th Street, were successfully apprehended without incident. Loftland was found to be in possession of several pieces of crack cocaine concealed within his underwear.
A subsequent search of the residence was conducted where detectives located/seized several other pieces of crack cocaine, various prescription/narcotic medications, marijuana, paraphernalia and over $12,000 in cash.
Cavalieri was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia (crack pipes) and released on a criminal summons as per the new bail reform changes. Loftland was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of controlled substances (three different counts for the controlled prescription narcotics), and possession of marijuana.
