The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has opened a time capsule buried by Samuel Adams and Paul Revere in 1795 and found some amazing historic artifacts inside.
“This is the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on…this is what we as conservators live for.” said Pam Hatchfield, who opened and removed the contents of the time capsule.
Inside, Hatchfield and her coworkers found a silver plaque inscribed by Paul Revere with the dates 1795 and 1895 inscribed.
A title page of the first volume of the Massachusetts Colony Records by Nathaniel Shurtleff, a paper impression of the seal of the Commonwealth, newspapers, a Washington Medal and coins dating from 1652 to 1795 were found.
