Photo: Looking for More Votes, Ocean County Democrats Turn to 17 Year Olds to Win Important Jersey Elections in 2018

by Phil Stilton

BRICK-The Ocean County Democrat Club has taken to Facebook this week to urge their followers to go out and register their children, their neighbor’s children and any child they can find to vote.  This week, they posted a photo depicting their desire for young teenagers in the voting booth.

That’s because Democrats at the state level are pushing for a bill, NJ A1521 to pass into law to expand their voting base.

With voter fraud under more scrutiny than ever before in Jersey, it’s likely that Democrats have exhausted other measures of increasing their ranks, including registering deceased voters and illegal aliens.

According to Bill Track, A1521 is designated as the “New Voter Empowerment Act,” permits any registered voter who is 17 years of age prior to the date on which a primary election for the general election is held to vote in that primary election if the registered voter attains 18 years of age on or before the day of the next succeeding general election.

A recent enactment allows certain 17 year-olds to register to vote. P.L.2015, c.222 amended N.J.S.A.19:31-5 to provide that a person who is at least 17 years of age may register to vote if the person will be at least 18 at the time of the election. Such persons are designated in the Statewide voter registration system as temporarily ineligible to vote until their 18th birthday.

“Make sure you get them registered and they vote,” the Democrats said. “Your kids, your nieces and nephews, your friends kids, your grandkids, your great grandkids. It matters – to us and to their future.”

Democrats are making a push to flip the Jersey Shore‘s second, third and fourth congressional districts in November.   The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has tagged the three districts as key battlegrounds in the fight to reclaim Congress.

Heated Senate Race Between Bob Hugin and Robert Menendez Erupts After Federal Corruption Case Mistrial

They are also working overtime to protect the tarnished image of disgraced incumbent Senator Robert Menendez who just barely skirted a conviction on political corruption charges with a hung jury, although his alleged co-conspirator Salomon Melgen however, was convicted.

During that trial, federal prosecutors alleged Menendez engaged in prostitution during his gifted trips to the Dominican Republic. The New York Post said claims Menendez even hired underaged hookers while on holiday were given credibility by the prosecution.  According to the story, “Federal prosecutors said Monday that they aren’t convinced claims U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez cavorted with underage hookers.

It later continued, “Three women who made the prostitution allegations later recanted and said they were paid to level the charges. Neither Melgen nor Menendez was charged with soliciting underage prostitutes.”

This year, the Democrats are hoping they can convince a new generation of teenagers to go out and vote after losing major portions of their minority voting base who are faring better economically under the Trump administration.

Menendez is being challenged by Republican Bob Hugin who has called Menendez “An embarrassment” to the State of New Jersey.
