ShopRite Partners in Caring Raises Money for the Hungry

BERKELEY-Councilman Bacchione, Councilwoman Gingrich along with Lt. Smith, Sgt. Robertazzi, Adminstrator Camera and I participated in the Annual Shop Rite Bagging for hunger.

ShopRite Partners In Caring is a year-round, community-based, hunger-fighting initiative that works with more than 50 food industry manufacturers to provide $3 million annually to qualified charitable agencies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Since its inception in 1999, ShopRite Partners In Caring has donated $44 million to more than 2,200 charities. ShopRite Partners In Caring supports emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, child care centers, battered women’s shelters, senior citizen programs, drug rehab centers, programs for the mentally and physically disabled, after-school programs and other organizations that aid those in need.

Mayor Amato said, “It’s always wonderful to help out and interact with our residents and I’m glad to be here with our hard-working police officers and council members.”


Councilman John Bacchione echoed the same sentiments and stated how delighted he was to be able to speak with people in the community. “I always feel warm about helping out our community and ShopRite has been a great leader in helping those right here in Berkeley Township.”
