TRENTON-Days after announcing sweeping reforms that provide illegal immigrants a safe haven from deportation in the Garden State, Attorney General Gurbir Grewal has received his first official recognition for his efforts.   New Jersey has one of the largest illegal alien populations in the United States, with over 500,000.

This week, the Anti-Defamation League presented Grewal with the 2018 Nation of Immigrants Award, which recognizes the work the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is doing to welcome immigrants and treat everyone fairly.

“We’re proud to stand up to hate and challenge bias and discrimination in all forms,” the Attorney General said of those in his state who oppose those who enter the country illegally, which is a federal criminal offense.
