Brick School Hosts Workshops to Discuss Special Education Advisory Group

BRICK – The Brick Township School District will discuss starting and operating an effective Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) on Feb. 23 at Brick Board of Education Office, 101 Hendrickson Ave.

The workshop will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Technology Training Center. All New Jersey school districts are required to ensure that a SEPAG is in place to provide the district input on issues concerning students with disabilities. The discussion includes rationale and background, state law, developing an advisory group, membership, meetings and more.

Anyone interested in understanding the function of an effective SEPAG or those who would like to learn more or run the group are invited to attend. Registration is required at http://sepag-brick2016.eventbrite.com. Professional development credits are available for this workshop.
