TOMS RIVER-Former U.S. Marine Corps officer Bob Hugin will be in Toms River on October 4th talking to residents about veterans and national security as he continues his run for the office in the U.S. Senate this November.

Hugin will be at the Clarion Hotel and the event will start at 7pm.  It is being hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12173 and is free to attend.

He joined the United States Marine Corps where he served as an active duty infantry officer from 1976 to 1983. Hugin participated in multiple deployments and was an instructor at the Landing Force Training Command, Atlantic.

Hugin continued to serve as a Reserve Officer from 1983 to 1990, where his assignments included commanding officer roles in Virginia and Battalion staff officer assignments in New York.

In November, Hugin is challenging Democrat Robert Menendez, who last month was ‘severely admonished’ by his colleagues in the U.S. Senate over his role in the political corruption conviction of his partner Salomon Melgen.
