West Long Branch, NJ – After Kim Guadagno challenged Phil Murphy for refusing to support the extension of an important property tax control that expires at the end of the year, Phil Murphy continues to dodge questions from reporters about his plans.

“When I called [Murphy’s] people for comment on whether he supports renewing that salary cap, they failed to get back to me.” – Column: The Star Ledger, 8/29/2017

If the cap on interest arbitration awards is allowed to expire at the end of the year, it would cause the 2% cap on property tax increases to unravel because municipalities will no longer be able to control spending.

“This is not a hard question: does Phil Murphy support controlling property taxes in New Jersey, or does he support a return to the days of 7% property tax increases?” asked Guadagno campaign spokesman Ricky Diaz. “Struggling New Jersey taxpayers deserve a straight answer from their candidates for governor.”
