More Rain on the Way at the Jersey Shore

Another severe band of thunderstorms is ready to pass through the area between Friday and Sunday according to the National Weather Service.

Showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening will be strong,
and capable of gusty winds and heavy rain. These storms may
result in localized flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Through Sunday the area is expected to get another two inches of rainfall, starting later this afternoon.

Today
A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 91. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly between 9pm and 2am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. South wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday
A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 90. West wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday Night
A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9pm and 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. West wind 6 to 8 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Northeast wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
