Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno releases Labor Day message, citing 16 year unemployment rate low.

West Long Branch, NJ – One hundred and thirty years ago this year, New Jersey became one of the first states in the nation to recognize Labor Day.  Today, New Jerseyans across our great State gather in special recognition of the grit, dedication, innovation and technical excellence of the untold millions whose labors have improved virtually every aspect of our lives – from jobs to education, security to housing, medical care to transportation.  With New Jersey’s unemployment rate at a 16-year low and with more people working across the Garden State today than ever before in our state’s history, I proudly salute New Jersey’s working men and women, and I ask all New Jerseyan’s to join me in offering heartfelt thanks and praise.  As we set our minds to a new season of work, and as we pause to reflect on the contributions of New Jersey’s workers, let us pledge ourselves to an even greater effort in the coming year, and to commit ourselves to make our state a more affordable place to live, work and raise a family.  – Kim Guadagno
