Massive Fire on Pier 45 at San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf is one of the most iconic tourist destinations on America’s west coast, but this morning the complex was gutted by a massive fire on the large Pier 45.   Firefighters have been battling the blaze since 4:05 am local time. Lt. Jonathan Baxter reports that the fire is still active and four-alarm status. Firefighters were able to save the SS Jeremiah O’Brien Museum from the flames. The fire is no longer in danger of spreading and is contained to one area of the pier. Multiple walls of the building have collapsed. No injuries have been reported and at least 130 firefighters are at the scene working to safely contain the fire.
