They See Me Rollin’: Two 16 Year Olds Caught Cruising Through Jackson With Weed, Booze in Car

JACKSON- Police Officer John Roth was contacted by a subject who alerted him to a dark colored mini van which was parked on a sidewalk on West County Line Road with a male driver who appeared to be asleep.

Officer Roth located the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who was identified as a 16 year old Lakewood resident who claimed that the vehicle belonged to his employer. Also located in the rear of the vehicle was a 16 year old male resident of Brooklyn, NY.

As the occupants exited the van, the officer made observations of marijuana use and a search was conducted which yielded the seizure of a marijuana grinder, open Coors Light bottles, marijuana edibles, THC vape cartridges and other paraphernalia.

The 16 year old driver was charged with: improper parking, driving without a license, open alcoholic container, possession of CDS while operating a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 16 year old passenger was charged with: possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were both released to their parents at the scene due to the current health crisis. The vehicle was impounded and the owner was issued a summons for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate it.
