SEASIDE HEIGHTS-If you have at least $1.2 million on hand, you can become the new owner of Karma in Seaside Heights.  The former bar is being auctioned off at a public auction on March 26th with a starting bid of $1.2 million. The Bamboo Bar is also on the auction block for the same price.

Several other Seaside Heights properties and the club’s liquor licenses are also up for sale.  The two clubs were made internationally famous by the MTV show “Jersey Shore” where the cast regularly spent their nights drinking their time away.

Both clubs shut down in 2019 and the owner filed for bankruptcy in February.  The owners also filed a lawsuit against the Borough of Seaside Heights claiming borough officials and police discriminated against the clubs, leading to a decline in customers.

The efforts against the nightclubs by the township were aimed at restoring the family atmosphere of the borough, which has long been known simply as a party town.
