GLEN RIDGE-Police killed a fox that was suspected in five attacks against people this week.   Three of those victims sustained bites and were treated at area hospitals for their injuries.

Officers in Glen Ridge teamed up with the Bloomfield Animal Control on Friday after reports of attacks.

During the search, Glen Ridge Police Department Lt. Timothy Faranda said two more people were bitten.

“As officers were tracking the animal, it turned and attempted to attack one of the officers and was subsequently euthanized,” Faranda said. ““In total, there were five reported attacks, three of which resulted in bite-related injuries. All three bite victims were brought to local hospitals for treatment.”
