Prosecutor’s Office Investigating Twitter Threat Against Brick Mayor

BRICK-Brick Mayor John Ducey found himself in a global pot of hot water last week after telling one of his Twitter Followers to call the police department against local Orthodox Jewish families using the township’s parks.

The next day, Ducey claims he received a threat on Twitter.

Ducey did not say what the threat was, but the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office was called in to investigate.

Like every other threat investigated by the department, a press release was issued on Ducey’s behalf.  Actually, this was the first time the OCPO has ever issued a press release highlighting an ongoing investigation over a Twitter post.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, a political ally of the Democrat Mayor, announced that the Brick Township Police and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office are actively investigating a threat against Brick Township Mayor John Ducey made via the social media platform Twitter on Thursday April 25, 2019.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation. Prosecutor Billhimer stated “this is an ongoing investigation.”

No further information on this incident has since been released by Ducey, Brick Township Police, OCPO or FBI.
