TRENTON-One week after Jorge Rios, an illegal immigrant hiding in sanctuary in New Jersey killed Lincoln Park jogger Carolina Cano, New Jersey’s Attorney General is doubling down on his fight against President Donald Trump to secure America’s southern border.
“We’ve said it from the start: the President has no right to take taxpayer money that New Jersey counts on and spend it on an unnecessary border wall. Today, we’re seeking an immediate order to stop those efforts. I’m proud to stand up for New Jersey residents – including our immigrant communities,” Grewal said.
New Jersey’s battle for public safety has turned into a partisan battleground where progressive socialist Governor Phil Murphy and Attorney General Grewal have dug in, according to a significant portion of their constituents, on the wrong side of the fence.
Grewal and Murphy have ensured that New Jersey police officers don’t cooperate with U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Officers, now want to stop the construction of the border wall along the U.S.-Mexican border.
New Jersey GOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt today lashed out at Murphy’s actions that continually threaten the lives and safety of New Jersey residents.
“Governor Murphy’s Sanctuary State policy is DANGEROUS! NJ needs to come together and tell Governor Phil Murphy to end NJ’s Sanctuary State status before we endure another tragedy,” Steinhardt said.
Steinhardt said that this year, every state assembly seat in the New Jersey State Assembly is up for grabs and encouraged voters to remember to vote in November in what he has dubbed the Murphy Midterms.
After Grewal announced his continued fight against border security in America, President Donald J. Trump reported in from the border to report the progress on newly constructed sections of the wall.
“Just checked out the new Wall on the Border,” Trump said. “Great! Within two years we will have close to 400 miles built or under construction & keeping our Country SAFE – not easy when the Dems are always fighting to stop you!”
