SHREWSBURY-Saker ShopRites announces the grand opening of its newest store, the ShopRite of Shrewsbury, in Monmouth County – home to generations of the Saker family and their ShopRite stores.

The state-of-the-art, 80,000-square-foot ShopRite supermarket, located at 1151 Shrewsbury Avenue, will open on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 a.m.

“We are very excited to serve the Shrewsbury community, in the heart of Monmouth County, with the opening of this state-of-the-art shopping destination,” said Richard Saker, President and CEO of Saker ShopRites, Inc. “We are proud of our great family of associates and strong connection to the communities where our stores operate. We live and work here and support local farmers, food producers and hundreds of community organizations.”

The new store in Shrewsbury includes favorite ShopRite features such as a Saker ShopRites World Class bakery with special occasion cakes and freshly made bread; a meat department with trained butchers; a full service seafood department with daily, fresh catch deliveries; floral shop, and a full-service deli department. The gourmet grab-and-go prepared foods will have a selection of 1,000 freshly made items from both the World Class Kitchens and Dearborn Farms brands. The new ShopRite in Shrewsbury will also offer a large selection of organic and gluten-free products and fresh produce all at ShopRite’s low, everyday prices.

The store will also stock local favorites such as Booskerdoo Coffee, roasted in Monmouth County; Glenda’s Kitchen gluten-free, gourmet cookies, which are baked nearby in the Atlantic Highlands, and the Grown in Monmouth label plants provided by local farms like Louis Davino Greenhouses.

“The Borough of Shrewsbury proudly welcomes ShopRite with a warm and vigorous round of applause. The return of a full service super grocery store is a welcomed addition to the array of businesses that support the economic well-being of our town and our neighboring communities,” said Shrewsbury Mayor Don Burden. “We are truly honored that ShopRite has chosen Shrewsbury as their home for this flagship supermarket.”

The store also houses a pharmacy, cafe, and full-service catering department. Customers can take advantage of a store nutrition expert and nutrition center, and the state-of-the-art store is outfitted with the latest energy-saving and sustainable technologies in refrigeration and lighting, including glass doors on the dairy and freezer cases, LED and T-8 lighting and environmentally-friendly refrigerant systems.

The supermarket will employ approximately 300 employees. Those interested in positions at the Shrewsbury location can apply in store or check out the careers section at https://www.shoprite.com/careers.
