Toms River Council Ordinances Aimed at Safer Roads

Phil Stilton

TOMS RIVER-The Toms River Township council on Tuesday enacted an ordinance that will reduce speeds along the two access roads to Toms River High School East.

The ordinance will reduce the speed limits on Raider Way and Dunedin Street from their current 35 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour.

The township council also voted in favor of placing a stop sign in Ortley Beach at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Brinley Avenue.  Currently, the three way intersection has no safety devices.  The sign will be placed on the Brinley Avenue access point to Washington Avenue.
