89 Year Old Man Injured After Car Drifted Into Parked Trailer

STAFFORD TWP-On July 16, 2018, at approximately 14:33 PM, the Stafford Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving two motor vehicles.

Preliminary investigation revealed a Hyundai Elantra being driven by Adolph Schlesinger, 89 years old of Manahawkin, NJ, was traveling north on Charles Boulevard approaching Lawrence Drive. As Mr. Schlesinger approached Lawrence Drive, he began to drift to the right side of the road on Charles Boulevard. At that time, Mr. Schlesinger’s vehicle struck a construction trailer, which was parked legally on the shoulder on Charles Boulevard. As Mr. Schlesinger’s vehicle struck the trailer, belonging to AMON Construction, the impact caused Mr. Schlesinger’s vehicle airbags to deploy. Mr. Schlesinger wasn’t wearing his seat belt at the time this crash occurred, and was the only occupant in the Hyundai Elantra.

As a result of the crash Mr. Schlesinger, was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center with a head injury. At this time, his condition is unknown.

Traffic on Charles Boulevard was redirected around the scene for approximately 45 minutes and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
