All-Shore Softball Week One Highlights

Week one of the All-Shore Softball Association’s fall season is in the books.

In the 12u Central division, the Staten Island Saints white jumped into first place with a two-game sweep of the Jackson Wildcats, 9-0 and 6-5.    The Ocean Township Honey Badgers ended the weekend in second place, defeating the Wall Stars 10-0 and 11-8.

An impressive pitching performance was made in Manalapan where NJ Cheetah’s starting pitcher Gianna DeMatteo (Pictured above) struck out 7 batters in 4 innings pitched.  In two close games the Belles defeated the Cheetahs 5-3 in the first game and came back from an 11-5 deficit to tie the Cheetahs in game 2.

The Jersey Shore Huskies ’04 split their double header with the Daredevils, 8-3, 3-17.


In the 12U South division, Stafford Stingrays, Barnegat Bandits and Lacey Storm came out of the first weekend of double headers with 2-0 records.

The Storm defeated the Toms River Tornadoes black 13-9 and 13-11.   Barnegat defeated the Tornadoes white team 9-5 and 11-4.  Stafford defeated the Manalapan Belles white team 15-2 and 12-0.

In the 14U South division, the Toms River Tornadoes went 2-0 with two massive wins over the Monmouth Surf ’02 team, 12-3 and 16-5.

In the High School division, the Jackson Wildcats defeated the Jersey Shore Huskies 5-3.
