Man Injured After Car Overturns on Derby Court in Forked River

LACEY-On Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 4:54 p.m., Sergeant Paul Sullivan, Jr., and Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to the intersection of Manchester Avenue and Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor for a one-car motor vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle. The investigation revealed that the driver, identified as 66-year-old Thomas Tyrrell of Derby Court in Forked River, left the roadway and crashed through a cement barrier and guardrail ultimately overturning and coming to a rest in an embankment. Thomas Tyrrell suffered minor injuries and was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River by the Lanoka Harbor EMS. The Berkeley Township Hazmat Team responded to the scene to assist with a small fluid leak from the vehicle.
